Salt Spring Island Wedding & Event Catering
Mavericks ice cream, ice pops, and other frozen desserts are available for special event catering on Salt Spring Island. Whether you are hosting a wedding, private party, concert, bridal or baby shower, birthday, film festival screening, long-table dinner —or just about any other type of gathering you can dream up — we have several options for dessert catering service.
Our mobile popsicle trike can be delivered and set up for ice pops with self-service at your event. The rental includes an umbrella for shade and a small customized felt board menu to display available popsicle flavours.
Ice cream bars, ice cream pints, and ice cream dixie cups can be served from our small branded glass-top freezer if your event has a power supply. We recommend the freezer for ice cream catering to ensure the product remains at optimal temperature.
If you would like to order products only with no rentals, please contact us for a quote. We may also be able to accommodate custom menu requests with enough notice.
Please note all catering orders must be confirmed in advance. For summer bookings (July and August) your invoice for the minimum total spend must be paid in full to secure your date. Add-ons and flavour selection will be confirmed two weeks prior to your event.
Ice Cream Freezer Pricing
The small glass-top freezer rental includes drop off, set up, and pick up from your event location. We can accommodate a variety of products, subject to availability at time of rental. Mix and match pints, bars, or ice cream sandwiches and receive a discount on retail value depending on level of spend.
Freezer rental 24h: $150
Retail value $300+: 20% discount
Retail value $400+: 25% discount
Minimum total spend: $300 + GST
Popsicle Trike Pricing
The popsicle trike rental includes drop off, set up, and pick up from your event location, for up to 24 hours. The minimum ice pop order to qualify for wholesale pricing starts at 50 units, in any variety of flavours, subject to availability at time of rental. We recommend the trike only be used for ice pops.
Trike rental 24h: $350
Less than 50 ice pops: $5 each
More than 50 ice pops: $3 each
Minimum total spend: $500 + GST
A Dozen Dixies Pricing
If you’re hosting a smaller gathering such as a bridal shower or a child’s birthday party, a dozen 3oz dixie cups are the perfect, individually-sized treat. Order at least one day in advance with your ice cream flavour requests and pick up your box of dixies and the next day at the shop. Feel free to add on extra treats!
